Project Description
Built using Openframeworks and text-to-speech technology, “First on Twitter” provokes a commentary on the un-curated integration of social media in Broadcast News, and the noise vs. valuable debate.
At the same time, “First on Twitter” highlights Twitter as the rival to TV news; where stories, personal or global, now also “break.”
Users interacting with the app have the agency to deliberately interrupt the newscast by tweeting “their news” using #breakingnews.
